Terriers will be looking for a strong, consistent effort as well as a bit of payback this weekend when they visit Denver for a
two-game series against the #10 Pioneers, who ousted BU from last season’s NCAA
tournament. Friday's contest (9:30 p.m. ET) will be televised on Altitude
(DirecTV 681, Dish 413) while Altitude 2 (DirecTV 681-1, Dish 453) will show
Saturday's game (9 p.m. ET).
BU
won the first game between the teams last fall, 5-4 at Agganis on Ahti Oksanen’s
overtime goal, while Denver won decisively, 7-2, in the NCAA West Regional.
The
Pioneers are led by second-team All-American defenseman Will Butcher (9G, 23A
last season) and Troy Terry (9G, 13A). They’ll be without top returning scorer Dylan
Gambrell, out with an injury. Both goalies, Evan Cowley and Tanner Jaillet, are
back after strong efforts in 2015-16.
Terriers
are 1-0-0 after their opening game 6-1 win against Colgate (video highlights), with
goals from Patrick Harper (2), Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson, Tommy Kelley, Clayton
Keller and Nick Roberto (photo). Jake Oettinger, in his first college start, made 29
saves.
BU
sophomore Ryan Cloonan, who sat out the Colgate game with injuries, is
available to play this weekend, while junior Chase Phelps and sophomore Oscar Andrén
remain sidelined.

squad that boasts four first-round picks in last June’s draft and the top

Quinn coaches in Hockey East and not the NHL, the fourth-year Terrier head
coach found his name at #49 on USA Today’s list of “The
NHL’s 50 Most Important People.”

Team
Terriers
(2-1-0) head to Western Pennsylvania for a two-game series with Penn State.
Friday’s game begins at 6 p.m. and is available for viewing on GoPSUnowTV. The
teams met for the first time last season and split a pair of contests at Walter
Brown Arena.
BU’s
offense is led by Samantha Sutherland, the nation’s top goal-scorer with seven,
and sophomore Sammy Davis, who leads the country in assists per game with 2.67.
The
Nittany Lions come into the game with a 1-3-0 record.
